The Lighthouse Point Police Department is currently seeking higly motivated law enforcement professionals interested in serving in an upscale Broward County, Florida community.

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2006 -- SEPTEMBER 30, 2008

 

SALARY SCHEDULE
Police Officer
Effective 10/1/06 - 09/30/08

Certified officers $47,943 to $69,044
(Top pay in 7 years)

Certified officers with experience start at $52,611
(Top pay in 5 years)

(includes $2,400 annual Professional Recruiting Incentive)

   
12 HOUR WORK SCHEDULE Patrol officers are assigned to 12 hour shifts with (26) 3-day weekends annually.
   
LONGEVITY
8-14 years $350 annually
15-19 years $700 annually
20+ years $1,000 annually
   
PENSION/RETIREMENT

Defined Benefit Pension Plan
25 years of service with 3% multiplier - 3% built-in COLA beginning 5 years from normal retirement date.

457 Deferred Compensations/VantageCare Plans
Contributions to these plans are made solely by the employee.

   
ANNUAL LEAVE
(Vacation/Holidays)
1-4 years 240 hours
5-9 years 266 hours
10+ years 292 hours
   
TAXES No state or local employment taxes.
   
HEALTH INSURANCE Employee coverage provided. City shall pay $1,625 for employee/spouse or employee/child or $2,400 for full family coverage.
   
LIFE INSURANCE Employee salary plus $10,000.
   
VISION/DENTAL INSURANCE Coverage available at an additional charge.
   
EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS Tuition reimbursement up to $1,500 annually, including tuition/books.
   
CLOTHING ALLOWANCE $450 annually
   
SICK LEAVE Employee earns 104 hours per year. Special incentives for unused sick time (details available).
   
EQUIPMENT Officers are provided with all necessary uniforms and equipment.
   
FUNERAL LEAVE Up to 3 consecutive days with approval of the Police Chief. Two additional days may be granted at the discretion of the Police Chief.
   
RELOCATION ASSISTANCE $1,000
   
FITNESS CENTER New in-house fitness center.
