Awards
The
Lighthouse Point Police Department recognizes good work accomplished
by members of the Agency. Citizens are encouraged to write or
call in and formally recognize commendable acts by police personnel
that go above and beyond the call of duty.
Forwarding a "Thank You" or "Commendation"
If you would like to thank or recommend a Department
member for a commendation, you can forward your comments by clicking
the "Commendations" button in the border to the left.
If you prefer, you may send a letter to the Chief of Police.
Department Medals
The
"Officer of the Year"
Award is bestowed upon a sworn member of the Department
who, while displaying a positive attitude, high degree of teamwork,
loyalty to the Department, consistent performance and professional
image, performs an act or acts related to the law enforcement
function which:
1. Best exemplifies our motto "Excellence in Service",
or
2. Is a significant, "high-profile" event, contribution
or innovation, or
3. Exemplifies a constant level of excellence in job performance.
